I am breaking ranks to issue a friendly warning to NO voters.

On the 19th September 2014 Scotland will wake up as an Independent Country.  I have no doubts this will be the case.

Every person in Scotland whether they simply voted YES or were active campaigners like our Molly who has fought this cause for 40 years; whoever you are and whatever was your contribution you will all know that your main contribution was a simple ‘X’ on a voting paper – and that was all it took from each one of us.

For my part, I will go forward in the knowledge that I was a small part of a massive campaign.  I will know that the most important part of my children’s inheritance and their children’s future will be the gift of their own country.  There will be challenges, struggles, gains and losses along the way but OUR country will now have it within its gift to rise to those challenges and continue to build a better, fairer and more prosperous Independent Country.

This will be part of my inheritance and every single YES voter will have that same, equal inheritance gift.  Because we all did the same crucial thing.  We toughed it out, stuck to our beliefs and took back our country.

After a YES vote WE RETAIN SOVEREIGNTY.  Every person in Scotland retains sovereignty regardless of whether you voted YES, NO or didn’t bother to vote.

But here’s the thing.  While we, the YES voters know for the rest of our lives and that of all our successors that we played our part in securing our country, the NO voters and those who did not even bother to vote will NEVER, EVER be able to tell their successors.

Will they tell their successors they live in their own country …

DESPITE THE ACTION OF THEIR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS?

Perhaps they will lie about it like so many who guided them and persuaded them and …

DENIED THEM THIS GLORIOUS MOMENT FOR ALL TIME

Over the weeks and months and years as an Independent Country, the NO voters especially, will see the lies they were told unravel.  Scotland will be using and sharing the pound.  Scotland will remain in the EU respected by all Members.  Many thousands of people will be in new jobs in Faslane and Coulport working to dismantle the weapons of mass destruction and package them ready for freighting to their new destination, hopeful the scrapyards in the US.

Two things now happen.  The NO voters over time will realise they were cheated out of their moment of glory, their inheritance to their children by a bunch of career oriented politicians with eyes fixed on the Westminster gravy train.  I am talking about Jim Murphy, Ruth Davidson, Jackie BaiIlie, Johann Lamont, Danny Alexander, Douglas Alexander, and on and on – you know who they are.  I for one, would not wish to be in the middle of that conversation.

But, you may have noticed I missed out a few names?  History has an awful habit of repeating itself, and here it is.  Cast your mind back a few years to 24 September 2002.  The Government of the day, New Labour, Blair, Brown, Darling etc first publish the revelation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.  This justified the destruction of Iraq, that we live with today and the death of almost 1 million people, mainly civilians.  So, here we have Blair, Brown and Darling at the centre of this lie, arguably the biggest lie in history.  After the carnage was over came the hunt for those dreadful Weapons of Mass Destruction.  Of course they could not find them because they were NOT THERE.  And so the big lie unfolded.  Blair, as we can see now is a broken man.  The big lie caught up with him and he shouldered the blame.  But what of his trusted Lieutenants, Brown and Darling?

They are at it again in 2014, in Scotland, peddling their poisonous lies.  

These are the lies that begin to unfold from 19 September 2014 onward.  But the NO voters must say to them:

YOU FOOLED US ONCE IN 2002, SHAME ON YOU.  YOU FOOLED US TWICE IN 2014
