The Tory’s are getting into a right ‘tiz’ over immigration. Cameron revelled in an early turkey shoot with the Blair/ Mandelson policy on mass immigration that he claimed, changed the social profile of the UK for ever.
Clearly, Blair did not have a handle on immigration. All he knew was he wanted loads.
Cameron couldn’t have wished for better. He blamed absolutely everything on mass immigration; the unemployment, pressure on housing, rising crime, the bad weather (steady on Dave boy!). But be careful what you wish for?
Along comes UKIP with their two principal policies to extract the UK from Europe and to control immigration. Cameron dismissed UKIP as a bunch of racist cranks.
But now its all gone horribly wrong. UKIP have a massive support and regularly pole 2nd in the locals commanding around 25% of the vote. Now ‘duck-out Dave’ is about as likely to debate live with Nigel Farage as Alex Salmond. Clearly, UKIP are winning or at least holding their own in the immigration debate and Cameron has a couple of cotton balls up his nose to stem the flow of blood.
Not to be outdone, Cameron has ‘explained’ his policy on immigration. He welcomes any immigrant who can bring skills, wants to work, wants to pay their taxes and basically ‘pay their way’. Basically, ‘the right kind of immigrant’. Who can argue with that. Give yourself a sweetie, Dave! Good job.
But here’s the thing. Although taking no part in the referendum debate, ‘cough!’ Cameron is unusually vocal in pronouncing that an independent Scotland is pretty much bust. As he speaks, North Sea oil revenues are running out, we have a potential pensions crisis with an aging population, our banks have had a massive bail-out. Basically, we are a basket case. Or put it another way, ‘the wrong kind of immigrant’?
I can see why ‘call me Dave’ wants nothing to do with Scotland in the UK. We are a burden, a liability and it will only get worse? Sorry, Dave, am I off script? but you said …. But why would you want to keep Scotland in the UK? Come on, whisper in my ear. I promise I won’t say.
So, here is the question for all those ‘No’ voters and ‘Do know’s’ and ‘Don’t care’s’. Don’t ask yourself if Scotland should be an Independent Country. Ask yourself,
‘Why is Cameron and the Tory’s and Milliband and Labour who ‘hope’ to be in power, and Clegg and the Liberals, who will never, ever be in power again, why are they united in hanging on to Scotland for dear life… Could it be that, like the rest of the world, they really love us! …
… or could it be, something else. This is the bit you have to do yourself
