Scotland demands freedom not LIBERALation (sorry about the pun). Taxi for Vince Cable!
Alistair Carmichael LIBERAL Scottish Secretary tells us that the current year revenue receipts from North Sea oil is gas was around £4.5 billion. He also explains that an independent Scotland would be totally dependent on North Sea revenues that are unstable and diminishing.
Danny Alexander LIBERAL Chief Secretary to the Treasury stated categorically that an Independent Scotland will not get a shared currency. In other words, we share the pound at present but we DO NOT share in any say over its future. Consistent or what?
Nick Clegg LIBERAL Deputy UK Prime Minister admits that Vince Cable LIBERAL Business Secretary is not a ‘share value’ expert.
Vince Cable LIBERAL Business Secretary spent more than £12 million consulting on the sell of of the Royal Mail. He was given advice from 21 leading banks and financial institutions that put the value of Royal Mail as high as about £4.8 Billion. He completely ignored the fact that at the time of flotation the Royal Mail was actually making money. He completely ignored this advice that he just paid £12 million for and set a flotation value much lower than the 21 share value experts. Was he pandering to his new chums in the City?
He sold off Royal Mail that was 24 times over subscribed at flotation (in a feeding frenzy) and immediately cost the tax payers £2.5 Billion, that’s £2500,000,000. Put it another way, that’s more than half the revenue from North Sea oil and gas that is so essential in running Scotland.
He did this at a stoke and has the audacity to stand up in Parliament and claim this as a success and refuse to resign. He wants to hang on to power like his predecessor in the LABOUR party, a certain Gordon Brown. I suspect Cameron will resist any calls to sack Vince Cable.
So here’s the thing. This is just a small sample of the LIBERALS in coalition. Actually, you could call it BETTER TOGETHER. There are many more catastrophic blunders they have conspired in but I won’t mention tuition fees.
If this is an example of BETTER TOGETHER in action, you can shove it and vote a resounding YES on 18 September at Scotland’s referendum and save us from LIBERALation.
