My General Election campaign message is very simple. For me this is exactly what the General Election is about for all the people of Scotland.
The general election is not a Referendum. Other parties will try to tell you otherwise. Many Scots were persuaded by the Referendum but felt it was a step too far at this time. The General Election in Scotland is not about the pound, or membership of the EU or removal of Trident or businesses moving south. This is about the governance of the UK over the next 5 years and how well Scotland will be represented at Westminster.
This is a great opportunity for all Scots to reflect on the successes of the SNP in Government in Scotland, maintaining higher education free for all, a growing NHS free from prescription charges and parking charges and free from private ownership. The SNP recognised the unfairness of the ‘bedroom tax’ and immediately introduced a subsidy to remove the impact on the people of Scotland. The SNP has had 2 successful terms in Government in Scotland. They are asking the people of Scotland to continue to trust them and to give them a chance to represent Scotland at Westminster and be:
